Bailey, DOB 2006, Male, Patterdale Terrier
Bailey Patterdale DOB 2006 Bracklesham Chic. Foster
Homing Requirements: Bailey needs a responsible family who can ensure his safety and offer him stability. Rescue Remedies does not advocate that 'working type' terriers ever come off-lead as there are high risks; Bailey is easily managed on an extender, and a short lead around streets. Bailey has been given support on desensitising him to traffic.
His Story: Bailey entered another rescue in 2013 and was homed to an elderly couple for a year. When he was returned we were asked whether TerrierRescue could help him attract a responsible terrier family. Bailey is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Bailey is in foster as an only pet and has had exposure to a regularly visiting dog. He is currently in Bracklesham near Chichester.
Advert: Bailey is a quiet character. He loves warmth; loves water; loves to bury himself in his bedding; loves life! He was homed for a year with an elderly couple but kept escaping out of their 'loose front door arrangements'. He became frightened of traffic but his fosterer has worked on this and he is now much improved. Bailey is housetrained and indicates when he needs the garden. Bailey does not seem that interested in playing ball but enjoys fishing the squeak out of toys! He enjoys a run and finding sunny corners where he can relax. He certainly likes his food; it doesn't stay in his bowl for very long.
Bailey is a Black Patterdale with a peppered colouring to his short coat. Bailey is a little comic and gives his fosterers laughs with his bedtime tricks; he throws his blanket completely over himself so no one can see him. Bailey sleeps in his crate at night. He loves a lap to sit on - including those of any visitors! He knows his "off" command. Bailey will sit for his meals and his recall in the garden is good. He is generally good at meeting other dogs but is not keen on off-lead dogs approaching him. Bailey is happy to wade through puddles but is not sure about big, noisy waves coming in on the beach.
