Self harm as an Olympic sport?

On the TV the other night was a feature on a competition where people have to eat as many hotdogs in the shortest time possible. The winner explained his "technique" of stretching his stomach and dipping the hotdog into water before shovelling it down. He admitted that he was ill for days afterwards, so really what he is doing is self harm surely.
Having worked myself up to a state of disgust at this rather pointless pastime (IMO) he then went on to say that it was being considered as an Olympic sport!!!! Yes, he WAS serious!!!!
I don't even think it should be allowed as a competition on moral or health grounds and as for bringing it under the umbrella of the Olympic movement and all that is supposed to stand for, well words fail me.

I agree Gill - but the stupidity of some people never fails to amaze me - they've obviously got too much time on their hands
