I love my dog giving me kisses, no I do not appreciate his tongue in my mouth!!! I believe that dogs have something in their saliva that kills all the bad germs!!

I'd be far more worried about shaking hands, or using a public phone or computer, than your dog licking you. Not everyone washes their hands after going to the loo, and they have the germs that we would be more likely to catch.

When I say 'kiss' to mine...they just lift thier noses and I kiss them. Don;t let then put tongue's in my mouth as they only do that for you to regurgitate food.......and I'm not doing that

No I don't let mine, I don't like it! They eat horse poo and clean each other and stuff so no way! Mya loves licking though if they come to wake us up in a morning she licks my ears Freddie is a good boy and just puts his head under the covers bless him

Katie licks our nose when we say kisses and she will just come and do it to.
Some times she does miss a bit and she catches our lips or chin.
Dori would just lick all of you if she had the chance.

I was told once that a dogs mouth is very clean even though they do wash their bums and other bits. dont know how true it is.

Just read that link and the bit about harmful germs being species specific i.e. germs that are harmful to dogs aren't harmful to humans. But it works the other way doesn't it? There could be germs in a dogs mouth that aren't harmful to the dog but are harmful to a human.

My dog eats raw meat and gets raw chicken a few times a week. So e could have salmonella germs in his mouth, which aren't harmful to a dog (their digestive system is so strong that it destroys it) but is harmful to humans.

Anyway, my dog eats rabbit poo all the time so I don't fancy him licking my face
