.... Haplooha. This land was only open to those who had lived their lives in an honest way despite many hardships.

There was a notice which told them they could turn and go back, or carry on. They looked into one anothers eyes, and nodded in agreement, they decided to ....

The old man bent forward and threw another log on the fire then sat back in his chair. He stroked his old dog Flossy's head and thought of Christmases past as he watched the flickering flames cast shadows in the dingy room.

Ratatat!!..Someone was knocking at the door.
Rising wearily from his chair the old man crossed the room, opened the door and peered into the gloom.

Standing there was a small boy. He was thin and a bit grubby, shivering with tears glistening in his sad brown eyes.

The old man looked at down at him, and was about to ask what he wanted when he noticed the little dog. The dog had the same sad look in its eyes.

No words were needed, the man opened the door a little wider, took a step to the side and gently beckoned them in “Flossy!” the little boy spluttered, as he noticed the old dog laying by the hearth.... “How did you know the secret of the labyrinth?” Flossy sighed deeply and slowly got to his feet. He approached the child, and upon reaching him he gently put his head close to the child's chest and closed his eyes. The boy's hand instinctively stroked the old dog's head.
the dog wagged his tail , a soft thud sounding on the bare ,earth floor as he did so, his time was drawing close, he could feel it in his old, weary bones, but he must wait awhile yet, for he had to pass on the secret he had guarded with his life, since it had been given to him so many years ago by an old woman with one eye who lived in Snowdonia.
But wait! What was that strange noise, it sounded like the return of the Snowdonia hobbits in their reindeer sledge, to claim their right to the secret Mirror door, which was in the bedroom of the old man. Flossy growled at the Hobbits o9f Snowdonia and gently took the hand of the little boy. Looking back at the old man he lowered his head and went through the mirrored door and out the other side into a wonderful land of Haplooha.

This land was only open to those who had lived their lives in an honest way despite many hardships.

..were invited to eat and rest.

The little boy whose name was Jed thanked the kindly Gnomes and told them he was very worried about Flossy who was getting very old and would soon be travelling to the land of the Rainbow bridge..

The Gnomes said they had heard that if dogs went to Scotland and drank the magic water their would return to their former youth, so Jed said..

...'Please show us the way kindly gnomes, Flossy has been good and true all his life and deserves to be young again and not feel the pain of age creeping through his bones as.'
The gnomes looked at the old dog and the young boy , then the wiser of the group smiled and beckoned the child to draw closer to him as he said...i
