Wanted free office programme

I want to type out my cv but I haven't got Microsoft word. I'm sure someone told me about a free office programme some time ago.

Can anyone give me information about this and how to access it?

OpenOffice.org was the standard free software alternative to MS Office but now there's LibreOffice which is basically an improved 'fork' of OO.o. There are all sorts of corporate politics and so-on behind the whole story which I'll let you investigate if you want. Suffice to say, current opinion is that LibreOffice is the one that has a future and that OO.o will loose out.

BTW, www.osalt.com is a great site for finding free alternatives to proprietary software. Also, don't forget free software means free-as-in-speech. You're not expected to pay for using it but most projects have a donation button... Think of it in terms of Dogsey. You can use it for free but last time I checked donations are accepted/welcome.
