Im new to this site, Joined because of all the forums on dogs. I have an English Lab myself and was reading wether or not having him neutered would fix his hyperness? Still in the middle, on what to do

Having him nuetered would probably calm him a little bit, how old is he?

NO. A Lab should be a bouncy, active Dog, please dont give him an unnecessary operation. He should be active!

Its not the Bouncy activeness he has, Its the "every dog" he sees he goes nuts for!

Hi Sarge welcome to Dogsey.
What food are you feeding your dog. Processed food full of additives can contribute to hyperactivity .

My Lab is 2. He was neutered by his previous owner, and I can tell you that even with that, he goes beserk with excitement when meeting other dogs

In fact I have to keep him on a long line most of the time at the park, because he loves playing with other dogs so much, he'll go hurtling across fields if he sees one in the distance

So if that is the only reason you are thinking of neutering - then don't assume that it will change anything!

Labs, generally speaking, are very friendly, sociable, rather excitable dogs when younger.

What exactly does your Lab do when he meets other dogs...?
