Does anyone have any idea if you can convert a old style phone you know the ones with a dial on them, to a new type of connection.

Yes is the answer for example this site offers a conversion service

Thank you found three old phones in the loft two old BT type ones, one red one brown and wall mounted. And an old bakerlite one..fancy getting them converted and hearing the old ring on the phone.

My mate Jackie just paid £85 for a dial phone - not a bacolite one, but a bit more modern than that. It's white with a black receiver and a "Mary Quant" style bit in the middle of the dial - dead trendy!

When we bought this house it came with two old 'dial' type phones but with fully functioning modern connections so I presume they must have been converted at some time. I love them
