Raw bones on vegetarian diet

Hi another question Jenson is starting a vegetarian diet due to itching (don't know why he is itching yet) but I was wondering if he can have raw bones or will that defeat the object of a meat free diet ?

Thanks Sarah

If the allergen has been identified as animal protein, then bones would inappropriate surely?

I think a better option would be to give him a raw meaty bone suited to his size (like a wing for a min pin, full back for a border collie) and see how he does. Whatever it is, it has to be big enough that he has to chew and chew and not just swallow it without chewing. Coming off tinned or kibble, they don't realize they are supposed to do a lot of chewing.

So, after testing chicken for a few days, I'd try raw pig's feet, then move on to mutton (tail).

He may initially smell bad and have horrible stools, but this is just his body detoxing and very normal.
