Bull Terrier Competition

Hope its ok for me to put this here please pass along, Manchester & Cheshire Dogs’ Home is looking for Bull Terriers with star qualities to enter our Ultimate Bull Terrier competition, to help change perceptions of this misunderstood breed and to encourage responsible ownership. Supported by James Wellbeloved, the winner will be chosen for their character and story of how they triumphed over adversity. If you think your Bull Terrier has what it takes, then enter as soon as possible.

Good luck!

Competition entries will be accepted from Monday 16th May 2011 - Wednesday 31st August 2011.

The four categories are -

• Bull Terrier Hero of the Year – a Bull Terrier who has saved a person’s life? Has your Bull Terrier prevented a burglary or saved you or someone you know from a house fire, drowning or serious accident?

• Best Family Bull Terrier – a Bull Terrier who has offered companionship to a family and shown their true gentle, affectionate nature. Does your Bull Terrier have an even temperament, boundless energy and love to play with your children or have they undergone advanced training, are they loyal and protective of your family or do they act like a ‘nanny’ towards your children, are they calm, eager to please and well behaved in all situations and a credit to your family?

• Best Bull Terrier Survivor of the Year – a Bull Terrier who has survived a life threatening event, surgery or neglect, beaten the odds for survival, overcome deafness, or being partially sighted or has he/she returned home after being lost for a long period of time?

• Best Bull Terrier in Service – a Bull Terrier which has helped turn around the life of their owner by fetching items, switching lights on and off, opening/closing doors for you, loading/unloading the washing machine, help with your shopping or summon help if necessary? Does he/she act as a guide and focus for you/your child, does he/she have a reassuring and calming effect or does your Bull Terrier bring independence and confidence as well as companionship into your life?

*ULTIMATE BULL TERRIER AWARD – our judging panel will be made up of Bull Terrier experts and they will select a winner from each of the four categories. The eventual winner of each of the categories will battle it out over a public voting poll which will appear on our website.

Hya everyone not been around much lately, been really busy at work, and sadly cant get to the computer as much as I used to lol, anyway, some may know I work at Manchester and Cheshire Home for lost dogs, and the home it holding a competition, for the ultimate Bull Terrier, some great prizes for the winners, including a weekend break, the competition is to try and dispel some of the negativity towards Bull breeds, its not a competition for JUST pedigree Bull Terriers the dogs can be mixes of Bull Terriers, BUT must NOT be dogs on the DDL, if you think your dog may be deemed as a banned breed do not enter the competition please.

I was going to ask this as by the description I took it to mean bull breed rather than just bull terrier.

Hi Chris the information doesn't really make it clear but I think it is for all kinds of Bull Terriers and crosses.

Clarification may prompt more people to enter...

Sorry for the confusion, its for Bull Terriers whether full Bull Terriers or Crosses of them so EBT/SBT/ SBT x or EBTx so long as its not got anything in it that may be taken as a dog on the DDA (Dangerous Dog Act 1991).
