show labs go lame at age 10,
LOL. What in the heck are you basing this on? perhaps you should go and meet the sire of my Lab in the gamekeeper ring at Crufts (10 years old). I assure you he is anything but lame.

Thanks for the laugh though, anyway, Mr. Know-it-all!

i am a proffesional trainer who knows the neccesity for controlling a dog, and i dont need modern head collars or whatever to do it.
Such a 'proffesional' trainer that you can't even spell professional right, eh?

ooohh that got some people riled! as far as using check chains, they are a useful bit of kit for training dogs. i dont use them on my dogs now as they are trustworthy to heel. someone asked what my dogs do, i have 2 working line golden retrievers i use for picking up, trialling, trailing, stalking and also helping out moving and driving stock to weigh etc. i have had malinois for personal protection, security and abit of mooching (drawing foxes etc) 2 mongrel lurchers (deer/grey, collie/grey mix) for rabbiting, coursing fox and deer control (when it was legal) for vermin and pest control.

Labrodork: i am basing it on seeing dogs with shocking HD at younger ages even that that. have you ever seen a lab doing what it is bred for? try it one day...

strange, noone has commented about what i said about breeding. guilt maybe? does anyone on here use their dogs for a valid purpose?
