Reading an X-Ray Help

I had classes yesterday so my husband took my girl for her checkup at the vet for bladder infection, the vet did an x-ray on two dogs named roxie only difference was the spelling of the name, my date for the x-ray was scheduled for the 24th being day 60. However this happened sooner than planned. My husband brought home the x-ray dvd and I can't make out much on it and yes I can see the puppies in there. Only the puppies aren't really clear like bright. Does this mean anything if you can't see the skull and bones clearly?(I posted this under the first topic earlier,) however thought I could use some help understanding this x-ray. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...psc5c4203d.jpg and http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...ps4f6c86cc.jpg

I can see what looks like sticks with tons of ///// and tons of circles close to the sticks with /////, assuming those are the puppy ribs.

yeah there doesn't seem to be any sort of symmetry that you can pick out, I usually have a scan done at 5 weeks and I can see them quite clearly

I doubt you would see ribs or even bones, as in a human baby bones do not calcify enough to show up properly on an Xray until the baby is ~6 months old. And puppy foetuses at that stage really cannot be seen clearly on an Xray.

As tawneywolf said, why not a scan?

I began the temp checks twice a day for the last 3 days per my vet recommendation. Today her temp has been 99.3 and she has seeked out my bedroom to hide, but comes out and checks where I am and goes back in there. She has been moaning off and on. She is at day 56 so the vet said to keep an eye on her and to call if it drops any more than it has from her normal 100.3 which is a degree. Gulp, breath, and relax. I am hoping she can hold off a couple more days. Vet is on stand by. Will keep posted on her and the pups.
