Yup, if this is the case then it explains so much - the dog was probably, at least, very undersocialised...

Socialisation is the key to molosser types being kept safely in society... and any dog.

I agree, sadly there was nothing else for it - the dog had to be shot considering the circumstances.

Was it still attacking when it was shot?

They used shields to push it into another part of the house. I expect they wouldnt be stupid enough to try and shoot it while the poor victim was present.

So this was a breeding bitch chained up in a garden guarding the cannabis? Nice.

However the degree to which this may, or may not, have been influencial in this instance will now never be known because we have (again) rushed to destroy the main piece of evidence before it could be examined.

The dog was attacking the woman, the only option was to rush to try to save her life, the dog could have seriously harmed anyone, I don't see they had an option in this instance.
