What are your favourite TV programmes

Sorry if this has been done before but I wondered what everyone liked to sit down and watch in the evenings.
I don't watch a great deal of TV but I do like to watch Eastenders if I remember, and I always watch big Brother when its on.
Most soaps or series like Coronation Street, Emmerdale, The Bill etc don't interest me.
I do like some of the real life things though.

Love Eastenders and thats about it really, at one time I watched all the soaps but now find them boring... I also love watching vet/animal and hospital programmes...

I love TrueBlood, Cant believe series 3 is almost over already!
and i've just started watching another american series called The Gates which seems pretty decent (it's another Vampire/werewolf/supernaturals type programme although less graphic than Trueblood )

I quite like Law & Order - Special Victims Unit although some of the story lines can be a bit upsetting.

I like watching the start of X factor although I get a bit bored as it drags on.

I've watched every single BigBrother there's been, and although a massive fan, I do feel it needs a break and needs a compete reformatt.. Bring it back to normal people, like bb1 and less fame hungry wannabe's!

At the moment, the only series I have been continuously watching and cannot miss is Dexter. Dexter is my only TV must-watch, particularly since LOST finished. I also love Desperate Housewives when it is on.

The only soap I watch is Eastenders, but I don't watch it every day and could certainly live without it.

I'm also a documentary geek. Channel 4 produce a lot of good documentaries and I'm also a big Bear Grylls fan.

Most of my friends think i'm an oddity because i don't watch any soaps at all, but the programs i do like are:

cops.
friends
only fools and horses
steptoe and son.
period drama's
Nearly forgot one of my favs is law and order(all of them)
