Fighting dog and cat call police
Police in Montana say they got a call from a dog and a cat on Christmas Day.
Kalispell police think the animals were fighting and knocked over a telephone which speed-dialled 911.
When officers arrived, no one was at home but they found the dog and cat still fighting. They didn't arrest the animals.
"We assume the dog chased the cat, and somehow the phone got knocked over, and the speed dial called 911," police spokesman Mike Klem Kalispell told The Daily Inter Lake.
Officers were concerned that the animals' owner, who's disabled, may have needed help.
"We had a history from that residence for sending ambulances, and we made every effort to contact the owner," Mr Klem said. "But they were out having dinner at the time."
He says officers didn't take the animals into custody.
"It's Christmas, and we don't want the animal rights activists getting all over us on that one," he said.
