Pit Bull Stabbed at local Dog Park

This happened at MY local dogpark. Wiggley field. A place I frequent with my own dog.

A normal evening at the dog park. Lots of dogs and owners out socializing and running about. A boxer dog and a pit bull begin roughhousing together. Suddenly, the Boxer dogs owner freaks out, whips a switchblade out of his pocket (that inflicted a wound 7 inches deep) and stabbed the pit bull in the neck!

The pit bulls owner then jumps on the boxers owner and a fight ensues. One of our clients who witnessed the whole thing and who knew the pit bull owner, helps to break up the fight and calls the police.

The police and animal control arrive and the two dogs are seized and taken to our clinic to be assessed. The Boxer didn't have a single mark on him anywhere, indicating he was NOT attacked by the pitbull (as others, including one of our clients that were at the park can also attest). The Pit bull bore a singe wound 2 inches in diameter and 7 inches deep inflicted by the knife. Despite the stress and pain, the pit never offered to bite or showed any signs of aggression at all. Pictures were taken and detailed records were made for the impending court case.

The best part is, the guy who stabbed the Pits excuse for his actions was "I just saw that monster dog near my dog and I freaked"

BREED HYSTERIA FUELED MY THE MEDIA MUCH????

That poor dog. He's going to be fine by the way. Thank goodness he had a big thick bully neck. Its gotta hurt like everything though. I hope that idiot gets jail time for what he did. I'm so mad about the whole thing and I'll think twice before I go back to the dog park.
