How much should I be feeding my Rottie ?

Murphy is 10 months and is fed on Autarky and Naturediet. On the Autarky sack it says to feed a build up dog (I assume this means a growing down as the other options are a resting dog and working dog) 260g per day (I think I've been doubling this as Murphy gets fed morning and evening) and Murphy is also fed a tray of Naturediet with his Autarky in the morning and the same in the evening - am I overfeeding him (please don't shout at me if I am )

Those of you with big breed dogs, how much do you feed ?

If you're feeding Nature diet with any complete food, either cut down on the amount of Nature diet you add, or cut down on the complete food.

My dogs have the usual amount of complete food with one third of the Nature diet added to it.

mmm I don't weigh Murphs food but I use a pint scoop for the autarky ( well ok a beer glass ) and a third of a pack of nature diet -twice a day
To be honest I go by eye most of the time -you don't want your rottie pup to carry too much weight too quick-can you feel her ribs when you run your hand over her sides ?? like she's wearing a vest ?
I think if it were me I'd half the Nature diet

Me thinks I was feeding Murph way toooo much...no wonder he was looking so happy

He now gets 200g (I think thats about a pint glass full) of Autarky mixed with 1/2 pack of Naturediet in the morning and the same again in the evening, I don't feel comfortable cutting it down anymore as he is a growing lad bless him.

Thanks for all your advice everyone

I feed naturediet (which is a complete food) with a dry complete food and as I understand you can mix two different complete foods no problem. I feed two thirds of the recomended amount for the dry and one third of naturediet. Or you could do half and half or whatever.

Where it says 'daily' requirement on the pack that is the full amount for the whole day so remember if you are feeding twice a day obviously divide the amount by two! Or you will be feeding double of what you need too.

I weigh Keena's food cuz I am a worry wart and she is still a pup and I like to know she is getting the right amount but I think with an adult when you know what the amount should roughly be it is fine to go by 'eye' and then the look of the dog. If the dog is too plump or skinny then just feed more or less.
