Oh, bother...

I went to the reptile rehoming centre, as recommended by Ceiron. Just to have a look, you understand....
And came back £130 lighter, with a complete terrarium.
Chap there was trying to interest me in a Cali King Snake...
*Ever so even tempered, just shed, lovely tempera....*
as the snake sank its teeth into the fleshy bit by his thumb...
Now...there were maybe 10 young children there, all asking *Hey Mister, does that hurt?"
I'll give him his due....it took him 10 minutes to get the little beggar to let go, and drew a lot of blood. He never swore once.....

Oh, and to go with the tank....

Meet Barley and Oats....two corn snakes.

The trust is currently *babysitting* a 20+foot long anaconda. He showed me the scars on his arms where it missed when he fed it....10" long, and *deep*
He feeds it dead piglets.....
It's a monster.

Ceiron.

This is the setup I have:-

It came with woodchip substrate, but I intend to change this for paper when it needs cleaning.
I'm thinking the guard round the light is a bit wide for hatchlings, so I need to sort that.
Other than that, in your opinion, is it okay?

Oh, and do you think it was worth £95, all in, including stats etc?

thats what i was waiting for.lol

thought u might get the hint.lol

what themrostat is it ?

and perosnally i would ditch the red light and use a normal spot bulb

ditch the wood chip as u say.lol

put water bowl in cool end and put at least another 3 hides in, two in each end for each snake.

theres pros and cons of keeping two corns together my onyl advice fi u do is to never ever feed them together in the viv.

if u get two snakes on one mouse u will be in trouble, look how long ti took to let go of a bite :S

erm and yeah seems ok ish, maybe a bigger water bowl.lol

for 95 quid its ok depending on what thermostat they gave you.lol

i always tend to get bargains, hehe

and inever been bit in ten odd years, im so biding my luck.lol

p.s. i would lose the door lock and just get soem rubber wedges.

Right!
Chappy recommended the red light as being a spectrum that is not visible to herps, and which would not be annoying/dangerous to the albino.

The 'stat is a Living Earth HabiStat dimming thermostat.

I'll re-arrange the hides tomorrow...currently the little devils are hiding under the newspaper...I'll give them time to settle first.

I'm thinking of feeding them seperately, out of the viv, in a tupperware container.

The lock is mainly there to prevent my Mutt from nudging the doors open...and she *will* try And besides, it came with the tank

Just realised...I ditched my straight cut shredder last month for a cross-cut! Bother!
