Any ideas what this could be?

this appeared on daphni's rear leg, maybe about 2 weeks ago.. after we had been out on a walk..

it wasnt that big, it got bigger within the first couple of days, but it hasnt got any bigger since those first couple of days.

it seems hard, but it has a thin scabbed layer over the top, and sometimes it does weep a bit of a clear liquid.

i have no idea what it is, and im going to book her into the vets and see what they think it is, but im a bit wary of her having to have anti-biotics and things while she is in pup, because shes never had to have anything like that, and a friend lost a bitch in pup because she had a severe reaction to what they put her on..

but any thoughts would be greatful. it doesnt seem to be bothering her, she doesnt bite it or anything, in fact i dont even think she realises its there.

It's not like any hotspot I ever saw they tend to be wet and weepy and grow very fast .... If it were on one of mine I would be monitoring but not unduly worried.

Coles hot spots tend to be dry, weepy and grow fast. May be because he has dry skin due to a dust mite allergy.

Looks like a bite from a beastie or a foreign object. I'd just keep an eye on it and if you're concerned take her to the vet. I'm sure it'll be something and nothing.

im not too worried, like i said its not getting any bigger, she doesnt bother with it either, just cleans it now and again.. will keep an eye on it. i can always ask when i take the pups to the vets for a checkup when they appear, if its still there.
