Thanks. Barney is not a well dog. I have never seen a dog go from how he was to how he is. I really wish I had known this.

He will need sedating....

I am just so upset. I hate seeing him like this and I am worried for the other dogs and myself.

I'm so sorry

I've read from the start, and you really have done all you can. It sounds like there may be a neurological problem if he has always been this way, and no behaviourist in the world can help that.

He sounds like a very frightened and confused dog, and I think you are doing the kindest thing you can. xx

In what way are you worried? Is he acting aggressively now?

If you are concerned he may be getting worse and may attack you or your dogs tonight, then perhaps you should make an emergency appointment to have him pts

My heart goes out to you.

I agree---give them a ring and have another chat---don't risk yourself or your dogs.

Yes he is being aggressive. I have shut him behind the gate in the room off our kitchen. He is going from lying in his crate to leaping up and shaking stuff. I glanced in and his lips curled at me and his head lowered. I just don't understand it.

My husband has said right from the start he thought there was something wrong with the dog. He has worked with dogs trained to attack, of poor temperament and reckons he has trusted those dogs more than Barney.

Please ring your vet. Could he have a brain tumour I wonder

Would your vet come to your home and put Barney to sleep there?

I feel desperately sorry for you. Are you in the house alone?

Yes, I am here alone with the dogs. I put the other dogs out of the way and got Barney to follow me through to the little room. He started spinning and barking when we came into the kitchen and I tried not to look at him directly so as to not provoke him.

He has crashed out again now. It is just not normal at all.

OH is on his way home now.

It sounds like very odd and worrying behaviour. You could always have a PM done on Barney after the event () if you wanted to know for sure whether he had a neurological problem, but I suppose it won't solve anything.

I hope your hubby gets home soon and so you have some support.

I've followed this thread today and I just wanted to say that you should feel proud of how you've helped Barney, and gave him a chance when many others wouldn't have.

To me it sounds like there is something seriously mentally wrong with him. A brain tumour springs to mind (which would explain the changes).

If it were me and he was continuing to become more agressive, I'd book an emergency vet's appointment tonight as he's obviously not "right".

*massive hugs*
