Alfie also has a collar with my mobile number embroidered onto it. It's for agility, as they don't let them wear tags in the ring so I take it off before a show, but it's also good incase his tag comes off on a walk.

Nothing wrong with having your dog's name on a tag, it won't make it any more or less likely to be lost, stolen etc!

PS if you have a male dog I would think that stating the obvious ie that it is castrated on its tag, is just that!

Ahh yes but he is a very very furry collie who wouldn't let a stranger poke around down there, so thought it was better safe than sorry as we've been asked by some interesting characters if they can use him several times.
