I've lost both my dogs now (Jessie Mother & Toby her son) they've left a large hole in my heart... I have cried so much they give you such unconditional love.

I wrote the poem because if I get another dog he would have to be old 'like me'.

On a lighter side Merry Xmas to all (Dec 2013)

I've only just seen this and so now I have got tears too.

It sounds just like Pepsi. Although not the Dogs Trust she had been in kennels for a long time because she was elderly. So are we and now we get on like a house on fire

God, that reminds me of my days in rescue struggling to rehome the oldies. We got our fair share of older folk looking for dogs and for some reason out of the rehoming team I ended up dealing with so many of these people as they had already come across with unreasonable or unrealistic expectation and could I heck ever persuade these older folk to look at an oldie? Could I heck as like. had to be a puppy - didn't want a dog that might die soon etc etc

So if only I had more experiences like this poem.
