1mg or 2? cant decide HELP!!!

am about to order laptop but i ont know which would be best....

all i will be using it for is

Internet (dogsey!!! )
Word
Access
Excel
Publisher
maybe have about 2 or 3 of these open at any one time...

Which would be better
1mb RAm or 2????

I HAVE NO IDEA OF COMPUTERS SO PLEASE KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!

Imo 1 should be fine, but if you can its always best to go for more memory.

If you want to multitask, go for as much memory as you can, the processor will use the extra memory to cache data.

Just let them fit the basic mem, then upgrade yourself.

PS: silicon are doing 1gig for £67.

its a dell laptop and its at 1ng RAM but to have it at 2mg Ram is £95 extra would it be cheaper to get the memory upgraded my self?

inspiron 6400
1 or 2mg RAM 80gig Hard drive 15.4 inch widescreen with vista.... its in the small business section as im getting it for the shop so you need to add 17.5% VAT aswell...
