Sadly this happens all over, sometimes the lucky dogs have people in the area who do "adopt" them you could say, and put collars on them to give them an identity.

What really makes my blood go cold, is that in some EU countries they place foods tainted with poison out in the open for dogs in resorts to eat. The dogs then die a slow and painful death - of course at the end of the holiday season, after some rich holiday makers have bought food and water for the dogs at an over inflated price.

There are some charities out there who help dogs like these, but sadly the number of stray and unwanted dogs outnumbers these places ten fold.

Rest in peace to all the poor little souls who find themselves taken by us at rainbow bridge each day. life is cruel.

I think it sounds horrible, but there are comments from Brits who live there and say there are inaccuracies in the article. I don't like the pics...but to be honest, I've seen photos from this country which are worse.

It is easy to condemn other cultures and nationalities, especially when we are not au fait with the full picture.

But of course in the UK no dogs get poisoned, shot, starved, euthanised, drowned, etc do they?

This news would not prevent me going to Mauritius on holiday.
