Hello from Stu (my dog accused of biting another/any advice )

Hi There!
I'm not normally one for things like this but here goes!
I have a wonderful big soft GSD called Montywho I acquired some six years ago when he was three. He had never been socialised, been for a walk but had had four or five previous owners! After fully 18 months after much training,he was fully intergrated into the doggy world and got his Kennel Club Gold obedience. He likes to do whatever I do and go wherever I go.He does not like dogs who run fifty yards to growl at him and owners who do not understand that this in doggy terms is ever so slightly agressive.Oh,how I enjoy those conversations(usually they start "Fluffy just wanted to come and say hello,he doesn't like GSDs by the way,oh,your dog just attacked him without warning!")
I thought I'd come on here to speak to fellow GSD (and any other dog) owners who have had similar experiences as I am having problems with an accusation of him having bitten another dog.Unfortunately, the owner has not let me see the dog,or the vets report,or the vets bill etc....This allegedly happened in December and I received a letter this week from her insurance company asking for payment of the vets bill and policy excess.I am loathe to use my insurance as there appears to be no proof!Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Stuart welcome to Dogsey. I don't quite get the picture here, was your dog off lead or alone when the alleged incident happened? If not what do you remember of the incident?

I would certainly use any insurance you have if you are refuting the allegations , the insurance company will then investigate the alleged incident and should have access to the vets report etc.
