No that dog was very strange I thought for a Gordon My friend's one is black and tan, but doesn't have the curly locks either, although he has very shaggy legs. I loved the dog though and his colour.

Was this the og that chased shadows (i DID see the ad?)

I really wanted to watch this as our collie Penny used to spend hours watching bits of light that reflected onto the walls... She loved light off CD's and torches!! She would happily sit there and give it the odd nudge and lick!

She would chase torch light up and down... Bless her!!

The dog needed a good trim I itched to take my stripping knife to that coat...what an odd colour and wrong for a Gordon...it should be '' Deep shining coal black, without rustiness, with markings of chestnut red, i.e. lustrous tan. Black pencilling on toes and black streak under jaw permissible.''

It was also a very intelligent dog and needed some activity to stretch it's mind and divert attention from the OCD..

This is what a Gordon should look like..

Yes Mini, that's what my friends one looks like, but a lot scruffier if you know what I mean! Mind you, even if he was a bit of a freak being that colour, he was really gorgeous wasn't he!

That was the strangest Gordon Setter I have ever seen!!
I found it really interesting!! I knew dogs got depression and stress etc, but had never really thought about them getting something like OCD!!!

Nor had I My friend's one must have OCD on a lot of things, coz he eats just about everything in their house, including carpets and the furniture, and when he's out he eats other dog's poo, as well as his own sometimes! His skin is a nightmare and they are at the vets week in week out, steroids, anti-biotics, they've tried everything. Talk about hyperactive too, he's a nightmare, totally uncontrollable, he even bit her husband one night!!! They made an excuse though as to why he did this I must find out if she's re-homed him or still got him.

Tail chasing is a recognised form of OCD to which some breeds are predisposed.

I think the programme was very good ..it certainly helped that dog and the owners

Of course Mini My friend's gsd did this, only because her 2 boys had teased him as a puppy and made him chase his tail They thought it was funny at the time, but very sad for the poor dog who continued doing it
