I was born in May 1958 and we got our first telly in 1962 ( I was 4 obviously! lol )
and my sisters were 14 & 15 and they don't remember (they never do !!) but I always do and I remember the first thing we ever watched on the telly and that was ......... (drum roll) .........

The Woodentops (because of "Spotty Dog") and Bill & Ben, Thunderbirds and Jackanory. Blue Peter with Valerie Singleton & Peter Purvis...... listened to the childen's programmes on the Light Programme (Radio) as well, they had some good series during the holidays....

You had to let the tele warm up ,and when switched it off use to watch the little speck of light fade away. I was born in 59,and about the same age as you when we got our first tele.
