And I've been getting wood. Pics in the Anniversary thread I started recently, Your Celebrations. It used to be 60", but I've cut it down to 48". Size is all very well, but too much is just cumbersome. Also made it a bit narrower. It was 11" wide I think, but again, 9" is plenty dontcha think?

Glad to see the amusing threads haven't entirely died under the current circumstances. Gods know we all need a bit of a chuckle in amongst all the anxiety and sadness! Keep yer spirits up everyone else we might as well give in to these madmen who have no regard for anyone! :smt023

The pics in the other thread I mentioned are of an Ash board. Oak's another favourite. I've also played about with some exotic stuff like Jarrah, which is related to Eucalyptus. All good hard stuff! (Sorry, had to keep up the tone of this thread!... )

The first board I made was from a sheet of ply, which is OK, but now I know where to get the other stuff from, I tend to stick with that.

Okay - to keep up the tone ... how hard is it then?

Really - how difficult is it to work in wood like ash, say compared to pine?
