It scares me to have to admit that I remember the first broadcast of the first Dr Who: nostalgia pushes it to the top of the list!

TV:
Star Trek original
Star Trek TNG
Stargate SG-1 is OK, but not as good as the original film (got it on VHS)

Films:
Star Wars (the originals) - got them on DVD
Close Encounters (VHS)
Blade Runner (VHS)
2001 (VHS)
Stargate (VHS)
Terminator 1 & 2 (VHS)

Books:
Isaac Asimov: the "Foundation" books
Olaf Stapedon: Sirius (about a dog with a human brain)
E E "Doc" Smith: the "Lensman" books
Arthur C Clarke: "Starship Troopers" (the film is crap, though)

Snorri
