Yes, Malka, both Linda's Loki and my Loki are cousins! Loki has an older brother in Jersey, CI, he does not have epilepsy, which is good. Loki first started fitting a couple of weeks before her1st birthday, which is on 30 January!

Our epi dogs are precious to us, aren't they, Malka. I sometimes think they mean all the more to us because they have such a condition. Very precious. Loki has taught me a lot.

Pereg was two years and three months old. Woke me on 1 April 2011 and I thought she was scratching as the bed was shaking so said "stop that scritcheling Pereg" and then she made such a terrible howling noise and crashed off the bed and I knew instantly what it was but we still have no idea what/why/how.

I know I have posted this before but it is the only way I can explain how much she means to me...

I look at her and play with her

And she is just a normal dog

But when the Monster comes and then

I see her thrashing

It breaks my heart

Because there's nothing

I can do to stop the Monster

'Till his work is done

And my girl is back when he has gone

All I can do is comfort her

And tell her that I love her so

And it does not matter

Not in my heart

That she is epi

Because it is part

Of who she is

And what she is

And I love her so

Whatever is

For me she's just my beloved girl

And epi is just a minor part

Of my little Pereg

So deep in my heart

Because our epis are special gifts

That we must treasure

No buts or ifs

Maybe they chose us

I don't know

But my special girl

Gives me a glow

When she looks at me and then I know

Without her life would be nothing and so

Without her I'd have lost so much

Such love and oh so such loving trust

And life would not

Have been the same

Without my Pereg

Epi is her name

I made a mistake in my previous post - it was a couple of weeks before her 1st birthday when Loki started to fit. She will be 8 on 30 January.

I know exactly what you mean in what you have said above. I do believe that they chose us! I never had a dog before until I retired and knew nothing about them. Loki, like your Pereg, Malka, is special as Linda's Loki is as well to her. They give us so much back as though they understand.

Hugs to Pereg from me and Loki xx
