Glad you got yourself sorted at the docs for an x-ray June cos that's what's needed with you. I wonder if an osteopath might be able to help you with this back and side pain? Maybe when you leaned over and twisted above that stable door originally, you could have done some serious damage to a ligament which will take ages to heal? Good luck with the x-rays tomorrow, and make sure it's priority on your to do list cos it is important.

Eileen, I'm with you on that multi tasking, it's been proven now that men's brains cannot cope with it. No wonder we get twice as much done in half the time then

Hi Debbie, hope Daisy's ok now after her digging and staggering episode, oooer, but then head down, frantically digging, it would be the same for us wouldn't it (when you're old it is). p.s. remember the watershed, it's only 6pm here and not dark yet

Hi Lynn, glad you've managed to get hold of Elaine, hope she's back soon.

Hi Bev, LOL I think that's the other way around with Harley and Lyla, but I'm sure it'll all be fine, and won't it be lovely having them all there to stay with your lovely walks there. You work too hard, but then you already know that. Soon be the week-end Bev and you can relax again.

Met my friends down the road with the shepherds, managed to have a good chat with them about Dave, and he's coming up Saturday morning and said he'll have a talk with him. They also invited us to go out with them with one of the neighbours up the road from me, cos they've started a monthly lunch club, so that'll be nice, IF we can persuade him to go of course, cos he much prefers that it's just me, and yet once he's there, he enjoys it if there are more people. So what with that other new woman, looks like I'm getting myself a social life here at last.

Zena's woken up full of beans so I took her up the road for a quick 20 mins which will hopefully mean I'm in for a peaceful evening.

Hairdo tomorrow, I'm letting her loose with her scissors even though she hasn't completely finished her 2 year college course, but she does the colour so well, I'm sure I can trust her with it.

I'm taking a break from the puter tonight, I want to ring a couple of friends and the way they talk it'll probably take me up to bedtime.

Hi to Sally for when you pop in later and thanks for all your support on the Dave front, not forgetting you Lynn and Jenny, I'm slowly sorting myself out here.

I'll say goodnight to you all then, behave yourselves after dark, but it does make for good reading with my morning cuppa when you're so norty you lot

Good early-evening all,

Today has just flown by and I cannot believe it is 6 already Having walked the dogs this morning I thought I felt better so go on with some jobs. With the beautiful sunny afternoon we've had I decided to go and start scarifying the riverside lawn. I have never seen so much moss on our lawn before and think maybe the flooding and silt has exacerbated it I did a very small area and it pulled out enough moss to half fill one of those Jewson's building material sacks. What I've done looks diabolical but it will do it good and will put some grass seed down in the next week or so depending on weather.

I came in around 3.30 with dogs in tow, sat down to have a cuppa and promptly fell asleep for a couple of hours. I now realise I have perhaps done too much and am feeling exceedingly tired ..... but feel far less frustrated having actually started doing a few things on my ever growing list

I put Rucksack on a course of antibiotics this morning and he is definitely less windy and has at least kept some food in him ...... so things are looking up.

June You must be relieved to finally be on the NHS conveyor belt. The pain in your back is possibly caused from 'protecting your rib' and as a result you will be been using your back, arms, shoulders in a different way and thus causing muscle pain in strange places.
Lacey Your daughter's comment about the blind man really made me laugh ....... besides she's your daughter Talking about blinds, this morning I went out and bought a metre and half of thermal material to make a blind for one of our south facing velux windows.
Nippy How dreadfully sad ....... RIP your old faithful trousers
Daisy How odd that so many of our dogs were so unsettled last night. I hope your dog is OK now after his odd behaviour
Lynn I hope you too have a more settled night with Dillon. Thanks for passing on the news about Elaine and her lack of internet at the moment ..... hopefully she'll be back soon.
LS I hope the dress looks lovely and isn't too short.
Bev Thanks. What a week you are having but you are over half way now and will hopefully have a lovely weekend with Charly, Ash and Harley coming to stay.

I can't remember what else I read so apologies to anyone I've missed.

Good evening everyone, and although I have read all six pages I am not super woman like Jenny and cannot reply to all the posts

It does seem though as if there are no huge problems, other than Nippy's trousers - and thank goodness that you are being investigated properly TW. That pain must be worrying.

H, it is wonderful to hear you sounding so upbeat and my thoughts are with you xx

Jenny, for pities sake take time for yourself for a few days.......you need to recharge those batteries.

Budget wise - I am so pleased that whisky has evaded duty increase Also the Isa thing is good news.

Helena You posted while I was typing. Sounds like a good plan with your neighbour popping round on Saturday and that would be a 'result' if you can persuade Dave to socialise more Good luck with your hair appointment tomorrow, I'm sure you will come home looking luverly

I too am going to sign off for the night now as I know I will be falling asleep after I've cooked a meal.

Hi to Sally and I hope you had a calm walk with Jimmi this morning ...... I'll catch up on tonight's news in the morning.

TW - A very, very big thank you for thinking of me and the pup while you are obviously suffering so much pain and aggrivation from your rib and the medics etc. As it stands at the moment the Memsahib has arranged for us to go and see a friends litter of Deerhound puppies when they arrive in a few weeks time and we have more or less given word we will have a bitch. So for the immediate future I am sorted, so to speak! But please, thank you so much for your kindness, it is truly appreciated! I am really glad that your treatment is starting to progress in the right direction (X-Rays and such) and feel that now you have got into the system it can only be amatter of time before you are restored to your former glory. Ref the pain cropping up elsewhere I sure you remember with horses how lameness etc can manifest itself diagonally opposite to the actual injury/damage and wonder if somehow this could translate to your problems. Just a thought and I am not trying to liken you to a Clydesdale mare (Honest!). Thank you once again for your kindness. Gordon.

Hi Jenny and Sally.
Sounds like it will be a quiet night tonight, everyone is having early nights
I will let you all know when the funeral is for the trousers, thanks for the support that I wasn't getting from the zip
