Vat

Henne is insured with Axa and has been referred to the Dick White Referral Center in Newmarket for his initial diagnosis and treatment for meningitis. He is covered for up to £7000 worth of veterinary treatment.

At the center, because it is a teaching hospital, the consultation is free but he has been prescribed chemotherapy and has to stay in overnight for that, and on wednesday he had to be readmitted to investigate a dehydration problem and they wanted to keep him on a drip overnight.

At each consultation, we are given an estimate for how much his treatment will be - and I've noticed tthis is always ex VAT

Axa are a business, so they can claim back VAT, and we pay tax on our premiums - so I presume this means that up to £7k vets bills is &k ex VAT - or does tthis mean just £5600 cover in real terms? If so, we are very, very close to that mark
