Hyper dog to slumber beast in 10 days?(Sudden change of behaviour post season)

Just wondering if anyone elses dog had ever gone from really quite hyper, to sleeping all the time?

We went away for a week over christmas, dropped of our hyper pug, and have been handed back a pug that looks like us, but has been sleeping all the time!

Normally, this would be a good thing! She's just come off her second season, could this be it?

How old is she and did they change her diet whilst at the kennels?

Shes 1 year and 3 months. Was on the same food at the dog sitter as we provided it. I think (but desperately trying to remember) that she finished her season about 2 weeks before we left her

so she finished her season a month ago ??? ..........i would get the vet to take a look just to rule out a pyo or an infection somewhere you cant see

sleeping all he time can be a sign somethng may not be right ..

Definitely get her checked out at the vets, no chance of her being pregnant is there? Maybe a silly question, but thats the only time my girls go quiet and sleepy

According to the vet, its likely to be either a real or phantom pregnance. But given the fact she was with a male dog, i think its the former.

Not what we had planned - a staffy too

i was thinking along those lines as well CC ...i didn't realise she was with a dog though so i would go along with your vets thoughts ....mine go very quiet and dreamy when successfully mated

i do hope not for your girls sake she is far to young to have puppies

fingers crossed for you

You're going to have to prepare for a possible caeser if she is. A staffy pug head is going to be quite large. I'd get her scanned asap to know for certain so you can prepare.
