hi all,

unfortunately we have been informed of more hens that are being 'retired' at the tender ages of just 16 months old.

they are still laying daily, but are destined for the slaughter house as they are deemed old by farmers.

please let me know if you are interested in offering a home to 2 or more of these hens.

they can be homed anywhere in the country, providing we can arrange transport.

we re-homed 968 in total last time, out of 7000 needing homes, let see if we can get the same kind of numbers saved this time.

i have someone from south wales bringing mine up so we could sort something
forgot to say the farmer wants £1 per chicken or they go to the slaughter house i think

I was thinking about Chickens some time ago. But felt with the dogs and cats there could be a problem.

But Im close to the M1 Sheffield way as I live in the High Peak. I can help with transport if needed.

It's a great idea, however I would not personally take on ex-battery chickens if I was to intend eating their eggs - the reason being is because they are injected with all-sorts to make them produce more effciently for the business owners. Steroids, routine antibitocs, growth hormnones etc. Hope I dont put anyone off tho!
