Hi all, Sandy update

Hello good folks of dogweb.

Not been around for a couple of weeks, really been missing the chat.

Just thought I give those of you who followed the trials and tribulations of rehoming a rescue dog an update on how things are going.

As a recap, we tried to rehome Sasha from Animal Concern Cumbria but unfortunately it did not work out . However, when Sasha went back we found Sandy (aka Dorris) .

When she first came home with us she was rather poorly. As you can see in the photos she was not a happy girl. She was also very underweight as she had been taken in as a stray.

After a few visits to the vets she was much better.

We have now had her a few weeks and she is back to what I would say is around her normal weight.

Sandy and my lab Harry get on great, although she has been in heat (Harry's been done) and she does mither him quite a bit for sexual favours Harry has coped well .

Sandy is absolutely fantastic with people, especially kids. She is very, very loving and a real softy.

She is good in the house most of the time but she has been in trouble the last couple of days though as she has found the wifes chocolate stash and made a bit of a mess. Wife was not impressed - not the mess, but loss of her treats.

Just a couple more pics, Sandy now looking a lot better chewing on a rather large hide bone -

And can't leave out the big fella -

All the best to you and those in your care.

Big up to ACC - thanks for Sandy

:smt049 Sandy is beautiful and Well Done Steve for nursing her back to health.
Is she a ridgeback cross?

Why was she ill when you picked her up? Had she been in long? (I hadn't met her)

Either way, Harry does look rather happy in that last photo, which is fantastic

Hello again Amanda, hope you are well.

I think Sandy had been in only a day or two. She came from a place in Rochdale - picked up off the streets. She was due to be PTS until Linda agreed to take her in.

Vet said it was viral (but gave her antibiotics???!).

A tummy bug I think, on top of being stressed by being on the streets then in two different kennels and all the travelling.

She is all better now and is absolutely fab.

Not sure what she is, I thought maybe a boxer X ?

Anybody else any ideas of what she might be?

Steve
