Oh and of course not forgetting "I've never seen a long haired doberman before, keep away from him he'll bite kids", his name was Ben aka as a gordon setter . He was also described as a small black lion on one occasion...I think she was being sarcastic...

Lost count of the amount of times Drift has been called a husky

Amazes me that people want to make my BC's crosses; but my old girl, a true Heinz 57 variety, they want to give her a "breed"

Tom who is clearly a lurcher to lurcher lovers is usually mistaken for a grey but the best one I had was a man ask me if he was a DINGO !

It does go the other way sometimes..... my heart leapt when I saw a dog outside a shop in town last week.... a Groenendael!!!

I went to see him and he was lovely, very friendly and instantly gave me a Belgian Lean... He had gorgeous almond shaped eyes, little ears up on top, pointy face, frosting on his muzzle, proper brushy tail, thick mane, white flash on his chest but rather short and stocky, not very tall.

I was all aglow when his owner came out, but she looked at me like I was fron another planet: "Belgian what?"
When I explained she said he was a rescue, and had been told he was Alsatian cross maybe with Border collie!

I explained, saying I also have a Belgian/BC cross, so could see the Belgian in her boy straight away - in fact he looked more Belgian than Merlin - just a bit short and heavy, so he could have been a poor example of a pure bred, or even a three-quarters cross.

I hope I have my camera with me next time I meet him, he was lovely
PS: Stormpants if you have met him, he's called Buster.

A woman once argued with me that Jake is a full BC... with a tail like this...

I also had a woman telling me her son has 'one of them' and what a 'fantastic breed' they are... i didnt ask what breed she was on about, i wish i had though!
