Nylabones and other chews?

Jin loves a good chew! Thankfully, she chews the right things....a rope toy, a raw carrot or her kong dental stick (with salmon paste).

Whats everyones thoughts on nylabones? Or is there anything else I can give her? She'll be having her first chicken wing in a few weeks!

Thanks!

Nylabones are excellent, almost as good as real bones and miles better than disgusting and dangerous rawhides.

I'm not against chews but I do think that the healthiest 'chew' is a frozen, raw meaty bone. I think Nylabones etc. have a place, I just wouldn't only use them and not bones.....I sometimes think it cant be that good having little bits of 'plastic' in the system as 'plastics' can release toxins but again, weighing up the risks and so on I am not totally against them and they have their place.

Cain liked the Sporn Marrowbone, like a Nylabone but with an edible core through the middle. Although he prefers a fresh raw meaty bone

Trouble is, Jinty hasn't been introduced to bones yet, I am gradually introducing new meats to her over a period of time to make sure she digests them properly, as advised on her, so I was thinking a nylabone might be handy for her to chew on until I can move her onto some bones

Ive just bought some chicken wings that she is going to begin having towards the end of next week, as shes been having lamb mince without issues for about a week and a half now

Thanks guys! I will give her the one I have...... a gravy one! Yum!

I'd put her onto bones ASAP. I got my rescue pup at 4 months and he was having bones from day one.

Her tummy might have an adverse reaction the first time she has a bone as she isn't usedf to them, but they soon get used to them My two's tummies still get affected by too much marrow, but they don't often have marrowbones, so it's not too bad

I am, but I am also following advice on here that says to introduce one meat at a time. Shes only been having lamb for a week and a half now, so she'll have a chicken wing at the end of the week. She is only 12 weeks old now, so there is no rush. I don't want to upset her tummy by giving her lots of different things all at once.

When feeding lamb you could feed a little lamb flank so not changing sources?

Do things as and when you feel comfortable. As long as there is variety over time etc things should be fine
