Scanning

A friend of mine has just had her bitch scanned (she would be four weeks pregnant by the first mating was mated on her 12 and 14 day) how accurate are they as she said that they couldn,t find anything. She has to bring her back in 2 weeks. She also said that her bitch is off her food the last 2 days. This is usually a sign with mine. We,ve never had scans done on ours so i really had no idea how accurate they are. Anyone here know?

it all depends how good the person is at using the scaner, if they have only used it a few times they could miss them.

when i have had any of mine scaned the lady has always been right but she has been doing it for over 10 years

my girl was scanned 3 weeks ago and no pups found..she was acting odd and off her food so i wasn't sure but she is def not in pup..... I have had scans done with wrong numbers many times ......told 5 had 3 .....told 1 had 4.......told 3 had 4...........

Tam's scan was spot on.

By 4 weeks if there's pups they should be able to be seen pretty clearly by scanning.

Did the person who did the scan feel for pups as well?

Hi annestaff no they didn,t feel for puppies. She had her belly shaved and was scanned lying down.
