Dog coats... which one...

Just went into pets at home and bought Dudley a gorgeous jumper/puffa jacket combo - and he looksl ovely in it - but it's a very tight fit around his neck and chest (hes' quite barrely) and is very very loose around his nether regions and waist
I was thinking of going a size up, but that'll be too big i think... does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can get a really nice jumper/showerproof jacket for him from?

xx

I always think you are better going to a local petshop because they will fit them for you and try another if it doesn't fit. I found a lovely one for Benji once but I had the same problem one size was too small and the next size up was too big

yeah - we don't really have any local proper petshops - there are a few small stores in the market - but they don't seel dog coats. i would avoid PAH if I could anyway - as I don't like giving them my money

I am going to get a coat for my Pug and am having real trouble finding one that will fit his neck (18 inches ). His back is only 14"!
He is not enjoying the cold weather at all. If you do find a wonderul website or supplier, let me know!

Can you not take him in to PAH to try some on?

Talking of dog coats, I made a great one for my spaniel after she's been working. I got a towel and a bit of fleece and sewed them together. Made a hole for the neck and put a strap with some velcro on for the waist. Not a waterproof one I know but nice and warm. Bit of fleece cost me £5 and I used an old towel.

When we got Hollie's, we took her to PAH and tried various ones on to get the right fit. The staff don't mind and Hollie seemed to quite like the attention!

Found this on e-bay if anyone is interested, needless to say I was looking for something else but they make coats to measure, there are other designs too.

this one is quite good, she makes them to measure and they are based on horsey coats so they don't slip
