Oh, thanks for saying that, Eileen, that's really kind of you to offer (I'll get in touch if I think my demise is imminent!)

Today they said both eyes are open & still scheduled to come home tomorrow probably. Trouble is, crystals keep appearing, so they're thinking about giving EDTA every other day now instead of once a week. Think they're at their wits' end trying to find the best thing to do. Must say, though, they've been brilliant - aren't charging me for her keep for staying in, which I think is usually about £150 a night - just medication & food.

Katie came home last Monday, but still squinting in left eye. Went for check-up Friday & luckily no crystals in that eye or ulcers, just one "soft" hair, so they can't understand why still squinting. Vet did hint that, as things keep going wrong, might have to be reversed in the end.

Eileen, this may be useful for you in the future - they've put her on a fairly new thing called Remend, which is a cornea repair gel - particularly good for ulcers & scarring. There's plenty about it on the internet, so I won't waffle on about it here, but I suppose it might be wise to check with vet before using it. Just think it's a handy thing to have in if an ulcer crops up.

I start putting drops in roughly every hour - starting at 6.45 a.m. and don't stop until midnight - even then have to put another lot in at about 3.30 a.m. Just hope it does some good.

Forgot to say, one of the vets got in touch with a top eye person in America to ask about Katie and he recommended Remend

Yes sounds good - Katie's having the EDTA once a day now to help crystals, so I hope the Remend counteracts any harm that does. Vet said it would pay to have her crystals scraped every fortnight - said she could show me how to do it. No way - I'd end up poking her eye out - will take her to vets
