Rotties

How popular are long haired rotties?
Are they purebred, or a cross/throwback?

I saw a longhaired rottie today. It looked like a purebred, but I don't know if you can get them with long hair! lol

ok, to clarify! this is a BIG fault, not a fad or anything. This is a genetic thing so far as I know, and it does pop up from time to time in some lines. Usually the breeders then hide them with pet familys so as to discourage more breeding. It's the same with the so called "red" rottweilers.

And no Jenny, I'd say they wouldn't be. Its just something thats not done.

You can get long haired Akitas, just as you can get long haired Valls, it just depends on the genetics of the sire/dam.
