External/exterior wood doors

We're looking to get a cottage style front exterior door, where several wood pieces run vertically with it ledged and braced or something along these lines.

Also looking to get an external french styled door put in as well.

It needs to be wood and we are looking for the best bargain ever So just wondered if any of you know of a place which does quality doors that won't make you sell your soul....

If you knew of anywhere which is reasonable we'd be grateful to get your links on it.

Many thanks guys

Look in your local papers Ingrid for a joiner cause they will make it fit perfect rather than off the shelf jobbies.Depending on your colour scheme of house, try to have it made out of Teak (dark timber) or better still-English Oak because these will withstand the British climate easy and wont rot. Both of these timber species can be expensive, but well worth it.

Thanks Steve.

I am really looking for a cheaper option, this isn't going to be our permanent home and don't want to throw our money down the tube on a house we are only going to get so much in a sale for, we are already close to the threshold where we could lose money on it but it has to be done or else we will struggle selling it.

The joys of being a home owner.

If you're looking for cheap, old/authentic why not try a reclaimation yard if you have one nearabouts Ingrid? Alternatively, as Steve said, if you contact a local joiner he might have a 2nd hand one he could renovate for you? Good luck in your search anyway.
