Has anybody seen figures of pets being carried off by birds? Is it a danger or urban legend?

My kitten, she was about 4 months was picked up by a crow, it only managed to hold on to her till about 20 ft in the air, then let her go, I was walking back from scool with my son and said oooh Campbell look that crows got aaarrhhhhggggg ! Philomena, she never went out alone after that, only went out with my GS Floyd xx lol
I used to walk with a woman when the boys were young, she had yorkies and was always on the look out for buzzards as she said they would take them given the chance x
