Thats what I thought Kirstie, its not so bad at the moment infact her coat is pretty good but I can tell the signs of when it happened before.

I pray that it doesnt get as bad as it did!

My Cassy had a phantom after every season and she was ok no problems at all with her skin or coat. Ruby was also ok just hair loss whilst whelping.

Our friend uses StrongHold on his bitch during her season and it seems to work wonders for her. May be worth a shot to see if it clears your bitches coat up. Remember it is coming up to winter aswell so with the seasonal and hormonal changes she is more prone to parasites or infection.

Hi Luxnalls,

Stronghold I use on her every 3 months and was part of the treatment from the vets for her skin but rather every 2 weeks for a period of 3 months, that combined with the anti-histamenes seemed to do the trick at least we thought it did for the allergy but now after the season her skin has become worse again. I must point out that she has never ever had any kind of skin problems in the past until June this year at the age of 2½ years. Her skin was still bad after the first two or three weeks of treatment and only improved after about 1½ months, has been great for the past while but now I can see a kind of orange tinge, her belly is slightly red (shes no hair at all on her belly) and her coat conditon just doesnt look as good.

Thanks Lel, I just hope it doesnt get as bad as it did in the pictures above.

Thanks
Laura

Hi Laura

Don't know if it's any help, but libby had several skin allergies as a pup. She was spayed after her first season, and almost all her hair fell out After numeroust tests found nothing, the Vets concluded it was hormonal or shock from being spayed.

Since then, however she has no skin problems at all *touches wood*, so perhaps it was hormones that caused her earlier problems.

Good luck

libs
