Presa Canario pup almost one year old...

Just a quick pic taken of Rocky yesterday (sorry its blurry!)

And an update on his weight...

He now weighs just under 40KG which equals 88 pounds and 6.3 stones!

However on the 20th of August he weighed 36.4 KG (80 pounds, 5.7 stone) so this means he's put on about 4kgs in 2 and a half months - it doesnt sound like much!

His final weight is meant to come in at 120lbs which is about 55kg and 8.5 Stones when he reaches maturity at 2 years old.

So.. he's got around 15 kg (33lbs, 2.3 stones) to put on in 12 months!... thas about 1.25kg (2.75lbs 0.19 stones) per month!

(Gosh that sounds like an answer to a maths test!!)

I guess when you think about it he is on track although I was worried he hadnt put enough weight on since last time I weighed him! Am I worrying over nothing?

Cannot believe he is nearly a year old... saying that we have had Chesty for over a year now, the months have just gone so fast.

I have never really used a weight guide for my dogs, having seen loads of cockers now and seeing that some are a much bigger frame than others, I have realised that it is better to judge your dogs weight by it's frame and size, my vet has always agreed with this and told me that if my dog has a waist and I can just feel his ribs then he is at his ideal weight

He looks great Azz, big lad, I think you are worrying over nothing as long as he gets the right amount of food and exercise just sit back and watch as he matures, each dog is different though so just enjoy wathing him changing.
