Toby Climbs Great Gable (parson russell terrier)

On our recent week to the lakes we climbed Great Gable, Toby was such a good boy, all that way up and down and only on the lead once whilst the farmer passed by with his sheep!

Here we are around 2/3rd of the way up, having a rest before the last steep climb

Nearly there

Phew at the top - just short of 3,000 feet!

On the very stop stone

On the way back down now, you may be able to see a small pink dot further up(although it may not be possible unless on full screen), that was me , it was not a good path coming back down for those with only two legs, all shale and slippy stones

Back at the bottom, Toby was a trooper, he managed this quite difficult walk including scrambling with the greatest of ease. Good boy!

Thanks for looking

Great pics! Toby looks like he had a great time.

You do walking the sensible way with stops along the way. Me, I just go full pelt for 3-4 hours and wonder why I can hardly move the next day!

It's the loose stones underfoot that do me in! You're right though, coming down s the worst!

I know, I always have the feeling I'm about to slip, still the loose stone made me so slow coming down, my knee didn't hurt half as much as some other time, see theres always a bright side

Clever lad, Toby! Have to say, Janet, you look freezing at the top . I also love the one of Toby sitting next to you - he looks like he's waiting for you or your OH to crack open the sarnies

Gorgeous photos, hon, thanks for sharing
