Dylan, Patterdale, DOB 07.05 - Gatwick

Dylan, Patterdale, DOB 07.05 - Gatwick

Homing Requirements: Dylan needs a terrier experienced family who know how to maintain attention and control when out and who are comfortable using a muzzle until they achieve awareness in circumstances where Dylan can be safely managed with or without as he is not 100% with other dogs, but 99%! Dylan doesn't understand children and so it’s better not to live with them and never be left unsupervised around children under 6 as with 1st generation 'working terriers'. Needs a secure garden and exit management. Ideally not for kennelled holidays.

His Story: Dylan was homed from a pack of 9 pups from a huntsman. His mother was a single working Patterdale with a pack of 40 Foxhounds. Dylan has been given the very best of a non-working upbringing; owned by 2 zoo keepers. Despite not being 100% around other dogs he managed to befriend a rescue 6 month Rottie pup 2 years ago as a live in companion. Dylan has been on edge since the families baby arrived. His family were broken hearted to give him up. Dylan was presented as neutered, chipped, vax'd, KC and wormed. He is in now in boarding kennels near Gatwick.

Advert: Dylan…read Delight! He is every bit the Patterdale so alert, attentive glint in his eyes at the hint of a treat or his beloved hard blue ball. He adores his family and is loyal and true. He has been attuned to his master and his recall is superb considering his breed. He has achieved training in sit, down and rolls! Practically loop de loop! He is GOOD, don't read his thread wrong, he is Excellent, but needs experienced aware owners. He IS a working type terrier and doesn't understand babies or toddlers or children in general. No incidents and he isn't nippy. He is managed with visitors as any terrier needs to be. Yes he has bronze KC obedience. He is no exception...he is exceptional!

A Patterdale owner would understand how to manage him and would reap the desserts from the wonderful upbringing he has enjoyed. He needs a stress free life which is active, engaging and demanding. He has a job to do and fetching his ball for a treat is an enjoyment even if he does drop his ball on the way back such is his engagement of the treat! He is not hyper. If you want a treat, and are able to make your Patterdale your life...Dylan wants to hear from you!
