a few questions

Just to update also, not sure if i have posted this already as not been on here for awhile, as i have been working, but i now own 4 lully cavalier king charles spaniels, i have 2 tri girls and 2 black and tan boys, now here is the question, my youngest black and tan boy is lovely, he has perfect markings and has a wonderful long coat wich his fur just hangs perfectly down from his body under his belly, he is a chunky little fella, now he is now 9 months old, how old are they when you cannot take to puppy classes?
Also is it easy to get them into shows?
i know i can prolly find all this info on the kc website etc, but thought i would cut that out and come straight here..yes i am lazy..lol also for west sussex peeps is the only puppy class held in washington village hall?? i have tried looking in google to find another one but with no avail.

Any help will be greatfuly received.

Hugs Loz n gang xx

Do you mean when is he eligible to be shown or to go to ringcraft?

Either way he is old enough now!

Shows allow pups from 6mths to be shown, ringcraft classes vary with their minimum age acceptance, but at 9mths I would expect any club to accept you both.

Most towns and cities have at least one ringcraft club that you will be able to attend. Have you tried contacting the Kennel Club to ask the nearest one?

thanks for that, no but looking at the website too see, i will try and get time to call them tomorrow if i cant find what i am looking for, to be honest i am new to the show thing, common sence would tell me puppy classes would be a great starting point, but what i would idealy like to know is do they have to go up ranks to be entered for shows,,either crufts or well what ever,,,yes i am a novice, but it would be a shame not to show him, as he is just a good looking boy, his parents etc have all done well in the show circle, so just curiously trying to find out more about the show lark...sorry if i come across as dence but yes i am blonde..lol

Hi, found details on a website, may be a good starting point to telephone and find out if they have any ringclasses nearer to you. I will pm you with them.

Ring classes are a good starting point, they will show you what to do when you eventually enter a show, and they will be a good way to socialise your dog. They can also be great help with getting you started when it comes entering your first shows.

Why don't you go back to the breeder as she/he can give you endless advice if you want to show your dog.

You can enter a dog at a show from 6 months old. That is at a Limit,Open or Championship or breed club show. Or a Companion show. With Crufts you have to first qualify your dog. If you look on the Kennel Club website it will tellyou the qualification for entry to Crufts. It differs slightly for different breeds I think.

Some local ringcraft training is helpful to prepare both yourself and your dog for the showring.

Hope this helps a little.
