First Litter...

This is to those of you who breed. What would the the maximum age you would breed a bitch if it was her first litter. Obviosuly we hear a lot about how old she should be before having a litter but how old is too old for a first?

i wouldnt breed a bitch over 5 for her first litter, it really depends on the size of the dog though.....

agree with age 4-5, i like my bitches to have their first litter on their 2nd or 3rd season I wouldnt leave a bitch too long to breed off and I wouldnt want to breed off a bitch that wasnt fully matured either

With large mastiff type dogs they are not fully mature till more like the age of 3 or later so this wouldn't leave much room at 4 or 5 so i would've thought later for them, but hey a dog is still a dog.
