My late friend Frank and I used to hold a little competition, to see who could come up with a good second use for a Spice Girl. Winning answers included "doorstop" and "draught-excluder".

I remember seeing a clip of them on-stage with Luciano Pavarotti (some charity event). The SGs were all miked-up and amplified. Pavarotti just opened his mouth and drowned them all out, with no effort whatsoever and no electronic assistance.

I'm just glad that something can drown them out. Or, even better, just drown them.
