Festivals and all that - Glasto' or Download

Well Glastonbury started tonight - On TV and all that.

Watched some of it tonight. Arctic Monkeys were ok but I got a bit fed up with the way the Beeb (who ignore it for 362 days of the year) suddenly feel the need to show all the 'fringe' unusual stuff. It's good to see but I find it a bit sad that they don't show the 'different stuff' at any other time.

I flicked through the stations and found highlights of the Download festival.

Downlaod is what replaced (what I used to go to every year) 'Monsters of Rock' AKA Donnington.

Just goes to show how times have changed - Even on TV Download suddenly came over as being a much more raw and 'honest' gig - everything Glastonbury used to be.

I was quite disappointed in the bit I saw of Amy Winehouse. She seemed to take an age to introduce her band and it seemed really slow paced.

Phil - you mention the old Monsters of Rock Festivals - I saw Metallica there for the very first time many years ago, that took me back!!

I went to Wembley Stadiumm a couple of weeks back to see Muse, Biffy Clyro and My Chemical Romance. Muse were absolutely awesome (and there wasn't a drop of mud to be seen)!!

She was p****d as a newt, that's why it was slow paced! She forgot one of her band members names for goodness sake! LOL

normally go to the strawberry fair in cambridge, went to the summer soltice this year, enjoyed that.
we live next door to a traveller (part time one LOL) but he goes to all the festivals and lets us know whats what with them. so we can now cherry pick where we go
